June 4, 2012

This week was fairly normal. One of the families in our ward is
amazing, they help us so much! We’re teaching the grandsom that lives
with them and he’s so ready to be baptized. He isn’t baptized yet
because he was waiting for his dad to get out of jail so that he could
be there for it;. This weekend he had his trial so we taught him about
fasting and we all fasted together that things will go well. His dad’s
a good guy, he was just paying a little bit of time for some silly
things he did as a kid. The kid is funny! At church he came up all
serious and asked me, “Does it count as eating if I eat a tic tac?
Because I already ate one.”

We’re also teaching these three sisters that are amazing! They really
want to learn and do good things. We taught two of them the plan of
salvation and all of the sudden the little sister, seven years old,
started crying! We asked her what was wrong and she she wouldn’t
answer, so we asked her if she was sad for the people that wouldn’t
get to live with God after and she nodded, then said, “I feel like I’m
going with them because I’ve done bad things.” We hugged her and let
her know it was okay, that she wasn’t going to be cause she was doing
really good things and that she’s trying to follow jesus so she’ll be
just fine. She’s such a sweet little girl, and afterwards she felt
better and said a wonderful prayer. I love her prayers, because when
she prays, you know that she’s talking to God.

We threw a surprise birthday party for Sister Andersen this week, her
comp planned it all and it was great! The ward members love to do
things for us, they had a great time!

The young man that was baptized is doing great! He was sustained
yesterday to receive the priesthood and in a week he’s going to bless
the sacrament. He really wants to follow God and is so willing to help
and serve others. He understand what the whole purpose of the church
is, it’s not to just go and sit in a pew and hear speakers, it to help
people grow and become better people, to show the love of God to
everyone and give them the support they need to follow Christ.

And then there are others that just won’t help themselves. It makes us
so sad to visit this woman. She knows she needs help, that she has to
do SOMETHING to change her life, because she’s miserable. We do our
best but if she doesn’t take the steps then we can’t do anything. God
will force no man or woman to heaven or happiness in this life.

On a brighter note we’re all going to go do something fun today. We’re
going bowling with the Elders in our ward and some of the YSA. It’ll
be great!

Well love you all! Have a wonderful week!
